Ames, IA (Sports Network) - Georges Niang scored a career-high 19 points, and
the Iowa State Cyclones cruised to an 87-53 win over the TCU Horned Frogs in
Big 12 Conference action from Hilton Coliseum.
Will Clyburn added 16 points and eight rebounds to help the Cyclones (17-8,
7-5 Big 12) extend their homecourt winning streak to 21 in a row. Tyrus McGee
chipped in with 15 points behind a 4-of-7 effort from the perimeter, and Chris
Babb finished with 11 points in the victory.
Kyan Anderson had 11 points to go along with eight assists and three steals
for the Horned Frogs (10-15, 1-11), who suffered their third straight loss
since an upset win over nationally-ranked Kansas on Feb. 6. Connell Crossland
joined Anderson in double figures with 10 points.
The Cyclones never trailed in the contest, as they jumped out to a 36-21
halftime lead after holding TCU to 8-of-27 shooting from the floor (.296) in
the opening frame.
ISU put the game away by draining 8-of-14 3-pointers over the final 20 minutes
to sweep the season series with TCU.
The Cyclones buried 14-of-29 threes (.483) for the game, marking the sixth
time in their last seven outings they made 10 or more 3-pointers.
