Richmond, VA (Sports Network) - In Atlantic 10 Conference action, Cedrick
Lindsay scored 22 points for the Richmond Spiders who defeated the St.
Bonaventure Bonnies, 83-80, in overtime at the Robins Center.
Lindsay went a perfect 14-of-14 from the free-throw line and dished out five
assists for the Spiders (15-11, 5-6 A-10), who earned their second win in a
row after a two-game slump. Greg Robbins added 20 points while Kendall Anthony
contributed 10.
Eric Mosley led the Bonnies (11-13, 4-7) with a career-high 30 points thanks
to five makes from 3-point range which he accompanied with four steals. Jordan
Gathers had 18 points and Chris Johnson managed 13. St. Bonaventure has lost
two in a row and three of its last four.
After holding the Bonnies to just 36.0 percent shooting from the field in the
first half, Richmond led 35-29 at the break.
In the second half St. Bonaventure shot 56.5 percent from the floor and held
the Spiders to 34.8 percent shooting to outscore them, 38-32. After trailing
the entire second half, the Bonnies finished with a 16-6 run and a free-throw
by Charlon Kloof tied the game with 40 seconds left at 67. Both sides failed
to register any more points in regulation which sent the contest into an extra
session.
Richmond went on a 6-0 run late in overtime and were able to hold on for the
win despite a traditional three-point play from Mosley in the final seconds.
The Spiders' earned 25 points at the free-throw line en route to the hard-
fought decision.
