BYU scored the first points of the night and never looked back, shooting an
impressive 60.7 percent from the floor in the first half in order to claim a
commanding 46-25 lead at the break. Portland converted just 33.3 percent from
the field through the first 20 minutes.
In the second half the Cougars again shot the ball well (.586), but the Pilots
were able to narrow the gap some with their 60.0 percent accuracy and 6-of-11
shooting on the perimeter, but it was already too late for the visitors.
BYU turned the ball over just eight times in the meeting.
