FORT MYERS, Fla. - After a pair of season marred by injuries and concussion symptoms, Minnesota Twins first baseman Justin Morneau, rebounded last year to have a decent season, but he has showed up to Spring Training this year feeling better than ever.

It's good timing for the Canadian slugger, who is entering the final year of his contract with the Twins.

"I've had a great opportunity here and I've enjoyed my time. There's no reason to want to go anywhere else," Morneau said.

But at the same time, the 10-year veteran understands the business.

"Obviously, if they approached me and they wanted to deal with it, we'd do it, but I think they want to see where I am at and I don't blame them for that," Morneau said.

The Twins will take that wait-and-see approach. If the team struggles early, one option could be to deal Morneau prior to the trade deadline.

"I can't blame them for any position they take," Morneau said.
