Fayetteville, AR (Sports Network) - Anthlon Bell scored 17 points to lead
the Arkansas Razorbacks over the Georgia Bulldogs, 62-60, in an SEC
showdown at Bud Walton Arena.
Ball went 5-of-8 from 3-point range for the Razorbacks (17-9, 8-5 SEC), who
earned their third consecutive win. Marshawn Powell added 11 points and was
the only other Arkansas player to score in double figures.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope led Georgia (12-14, 6-7) with 15 points as it lost
its third in a row. Sherrard Brantley added 10 points while no other Bulldog
scored in double digits..
Arkansas was up 28-18 at halftime after Georgia shot just 18.2 percent from
the floor in the first half.
In the second half the Bulldogs shots 54.2 percent and outscored the
Razorbacks 42-34. Georgia came back from an 11-point to tie the game
60-60. B.J. Young then drove to the basket and put an acrobatic shot with five
seconds on the clock to put Arkansas up by two. Georgia was unable to tie the
game in the final seconds as time expired.
Arkansas' ten 3-pointers were the difference in the game and allowed the
Razorbacks to take the win.
