Dayton, OH (Sports Network) - Devin Oliver had 19 points and 10 rebounds off
the bench to lead the Dayton Flyers to a 78-74 win over the Richmond Spiders
in an Atlantic 10 showdown at UD Arena.
Kevin Dillard led the way with 21 points for Dayton (16-12, 6-8 A-10), which
improved to 12-4 at home this season.
Cedrick Lindsay paced Richmond (17-12, 7-7) with a career-high 22 points and
seven assists. Darien Brothers shot 4-of-8 from behind the arc for 19 points,
while Derrick Williams added 17 points on 7-of-9 from the field.
Dillard had 11 first-half points for Dayton, which shot 53.6 percent from the
floor in the opening 20 minutes, while Richmond was just 40 percent from the
field. Dayton finished the stanza on a 15-8 run and led 34-27 at the break.
Richmond fought hard to get back in the game and shot a lofty 72.7 percent in
the second half, including 6-of-8 from long range. However, Dayton kept its
composure and shot 17-of-20 from the free throw line to survive with the
win.
Dayton won the rebounding battle, 32-19, which included 15 offensive boards.
