Columbia, MO (Sports Network) - Laurence Bowers scored 23 points and pulled
down 10 rebounds as the Missouri Tigers posted an 89-76 win over the LSU
Tigers in SEC play at Mizzou Arena.
Also recording a double-double for Missouri (21-8, 10-6 SEC) was Alex Oriakhi
with 18 points and 10 boards, not to mention four blocked shots as the team
posted a third win in four games. Phil Pressey responded with 15 points and
eight assists, Earnest Ross 13 points off the bench and Keion Bell 11 for the
hosts.
LSU (17-10, 8-8) was paced by Anthony Hickey with 22 points, shooting 6-of-14
from behind the 3-point line, followed by Charles Carmouche and Johnny
O'Bryant III with 21 and 18 points, respectively, as the squad had a two-game
win streak snapped.
The visiting Tigers led by as many as 13 points midway through the first half,
25-12, but a 29-8 run in the period by the host Tigers turned the tide as
Missouri grabbed a 43-39 lead at the break.
In the second half Missouri left no doubt by hitting on an impressive 62.1
percent from the floor, en route to the double-digit victory.
The hosts dominated in the paint, outscoring LSU by a margin of 52-24.
