Williamsburg, VA (Sports Network) - A pair of free throws by Devon Moore
lifted the James Madison Dukes as they sneaked by the William & Mary Tribe,
69-67, in Colonial Athletic Association action at Kaplan Arena.
A.J. Davis recorded a career-high 36 points, making good on 15-of-23 from the
floor for the Dukes (17-14, 11-7 CAA). Ron Curry added 10 points as JMU
snapped a two-game losing streak.
For the Tribe (13-16, 7-11), Marcus Thornton and Tim Rusthoven contributed 20
points apiece as William & Mary lost it's second of the last three games.
In the first half, JMU was held to 12-of-30 from the floor. William & Mary
made 19-of-25 field goal attempts including 6-of-8 beyond the arc, en route to
a 47-31 advantage at the break.
In the second half, William & Mary was held to a mere 9-of-22 from the floor.
JMU knocked down 13-of-28 from the floor. The Tribe tied the game up at,
57-57, with a layup by Tim Rusthoven with 48 seconds remaining. Devon Moore
would follow with his game-winning free throws to seal the two-point victory.
JMU forced 20 turnovers, and outscored William & Mary, 28-10, in points off
takeaways.
