Tallahassee, FL (Sports Network) - Devon Bookert netted a career-best 18
points as the Florida State Seminoles end the regular season on a high note
with a 71-67 win over the NC State Wolfpack in an ACC battle at the Donald L.
Tucker Center.
Michael Snaer scored 17 points for Florida State (17-14, 9-9 ACC), which got
25 points from its bench and won its fourth straight home game.
Scott Wood had 18 points and Lorenzo Brown registered 14 points and eight
assists for NC State (22-9, 11-7), which saw its three-game winning streak
come to an end. Richard Howell added 10 points and nine boards, reaching the
1,000-career-rebound plateau in the process.
NC State took a 35-34 lead into the locker rooms after shooting 55 percent
from the floor and holding the Seminoles to just 1-of-8 from behind the arc.
Florida State did make 9-of-9 from the stripe and forced three first-half
fouls on Howell.
FSU hit 50 percent of its shots in the second half and held the Wolfpack
without a 3-point basket on five attempts. Howell had nine of his 10 points in
the period for NC State, including a three-point play to bring the the
Wolfpack to within one at 67-66 with 21 seconds to play. After making his
first free throw on the other end, Aaron Thomas missed the second but it was
rebounded by FSU big man Okaro White. He found Bookert, who drew a foul and
knocked down two foul shots to win it for the Seminoles.
FSU improved to 22-28 all-time against NC State.
