Sioux Falls, SD (Sports Network) - Taylor Braun poured in a game-high 27
points and Marshall Bjorklund recorded a double-double as the North Dakota
State Bison rallied for a 68-59 win over the UMKC Kangaroos in the
quarterfinals of the Summit League Tournament at Sioux Falls Arena.
Bjorklund had 18 points and 10 rebounds and Lawrence Alexander added 14
points for the third-seed Bison (23-8) who move on to face second-seed
Western Illinois in the semifinals.
Trinity Hall had 14 points and Estan Tyler had eight points and seven
assists for sixth-seed UMKC (8-24).
At halftime the Kangaroos held a slim 22-19 lead despite shooting 30,4
percent from the field as they limited the Bison to just seven field goals
while hitting 6-of-10 from the free-throw line.
After the break the Bison improved to 62.5 percent shooting while knocking
in 17-of-21 shots from the free-throw line to secure the victory.
North Dakota State had a 35-25 edge in rebounds while outscoring UMKC,
34-20, in the paint.
