Owings Mills, MD (Sports Network) - The Baltimore Ravens reached agreements
with a pair of restricted free agents on Tuesday, signing long snapper Morgan
Cox and return specialist David Reed to two-year contracts.
Cox has served as Baltimore's long snapper since making the club as an
undrafted free agent in 2010. The 26-year-old also had a pair of tackles on
special teams for the Super Bowl XLVI champions this past season.
Reed, a fifth-round pick of the Ravens in the 2010 draft, has averaged 29.5
yards on 39 career kickoff returns and set a then-franchise record by taking a
kick back 103 yards for a touchdown in an overtime win at Houston during his
rookie campaign.
The Utah product also had 11 special-teams stops that season, but was limited
to just five games in 2012 due to a knee injury.
