Garland, TX (Sports Network) - Demarquelle Tabb registered a double-double of
15 points and 15 rebounds to help the Alabama A&M Bulldogs take down the
Grambling State Tigers, 59-51, in the quarterfinal round of the Southwestern
Athletic Conference Tournament.
Brandon Ellis tallied a team-high 19 points for the sixth-seeded Alabama A&M
(11-19), which top-seeded Southern Jaguars in the semifinals on Friday. Green
Hill also got into the mix with 11 points, six assists and three steals.
Grambling State (0-27) finished the 2012-13 season as the only Division I
program without a win. Tery Rose led the way in the Tigers' final game with 22
points.
The Tigers were limited to 32.1 percent shooting from the floor and finished
with seven assists to 15 turnovers. Alabama A&M won despite making good on
just 13-of-27 at the free-throw line.
