Iowa City, IA (Sports Network) - Roy Devyn Marble scored a game-high 28 points
and Aaron White added 13 and seven rebounds as Iowa edged Stony Brook, 75-63,
on Friday in NIT second round action.
Melsahn Basabe and Zach McCabe each netted eight points for the Hawkeyes
(23-12), who advance to the quarterfinals to face either Virginia or St.
John's.
Jameel Warney paced seventh-seeded Stony Brook with 17 points and Anthony
Jackson donated 15 for the Seawolves (25-8), who defeated second-seeded
Massachusetts in the first round on Wednesday.
The contest was tied at 41 early in the second half before the Hawkeyes went
on a 13-3 surge to take a 54-44 lead with 11-plus minutes to play.
Jackson cut Stony Brook's deficit to five points a couple minutes later, but
Iowa was able to increase its lead and keep its distance as the game came to a
close.
Josh Oglesby gave Iowa a 37-34 lead at the break after he hit a triple with
seconds to spare.
