Durham, NC (Sports Network) - Dwayne Foster is serving as North Carolina Central's acting football coach after the university suspended head coach Henry Frazier III on Monday.

Foster joined the Eagles' staff in 2011 and is the team's assistant head coach, recruiting coordinator and offensive line coach.

Frazier, 45, was arrested Monday on a misdemeanor charge after allegedly violating the terms of a domestic violence order. He was released on a $5,000 bond.

Frazier had been arrested in May 2012 following a domestic dispute with his then-wife, Lanier Turner-Frazier.

WTVD in Durham reported a police report said Frazier wrote a letter to his ex- wife about a parking ticket, saying he had paid it and would deduct the money from his monthly alimony check. The letter then was delivered by the couple's son.

Under the order, Frazier is not allowed to contact his ex-wife directly or through a third party.

A court date is scheduled for Sept. 30.

Frazier was the 2009 Eddie Robinson Award recipient as the FCS coach of the year while he was at Prairie View A&M.

North Carolina Central, a member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, will begin its season on Aug. 31 at Duke.
