runs scored, Carlos Torres tossed 6 2/3 solid innings and the New York Mets
dominated the Philadelphia Phillies, 11-3, to split a four-game series.
Daniel Murphy went 4-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored for the Mets, who
went 3-6 on a nine-game homestand. Anthony Recker and Andrew Brown homered.
Torres (3-2) allowed one run on four hits while striking out six.
Roger Bernadina hit a two-run homer for the Phillies, who fell to 3-15 over
their last 18 road game. Darin Ruf added an RBI.
Philadelphia starter Ethan Martin (2-3) gave up three runs on four hits while
striking out a career-high nine batters over four innings.
