Stony Brook, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Stony Brook football coach Chuck Priore has agreed to a one-year contract extension through 2018, interim director of athletics Donna Woodruff said Thursday.

Priore, who also received a one-year extension through 2017 last January, has a 52-40 record in eight seasons at Stony Brook. The Seawolves finished 5-6 overall and 3-5 in its first season in CAA Football this past year.

"Coach Priore has built Stony Brook football into a formidable and well- respected program," Woodruff said. "Under his leadership, and behind an unwavering commitment to excellence, his teams are always well-prepared for competition. I am thrilled that Coach Priore has agreed to this extension and will continue to lead our football program well into the future."

Priore was the head coach at Trinity for six seasons prior to arriving at Stony Brook. He has a 91-46 career record.
