Buffalo, NY (Sports Network) - George Beamon tallied a season-high 33 points as the Manhattan Jaspers defeated the Canisius Golden Griffins 78-66 in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference bout at Koessler Athletic Center.

Beamon shot 14-of-24 from the field for Manhattan (15-7, 8-2 MAAC) and has scored double digits in every game he's played this season. Rhamel Brown added 10 points for the Jaspers, who are riding a season-long six game win streak.

For Canisius (4-16, 1-9), Gaby Belardo led the way with 18 points. Alshwan Hymes and Harold Washington each netted 16 points and Washington added nine rebounds. The loss extends the Golden Griffins' winless streak to four games.

Canisius actually held a 35-33 halftime lead behind 6-of-13 shooting from three-point range. Manhattan was held to just 38.2 percent field goal shooting in the frame.

Manhattan took control after halftime, improving to 48.6 percent from the floor after the break. The Golden Griffins' three-point shooting cooled off as they hit just 1-of-8 from beyond the arc in the second half.

Manhattan doubled up Canisius in both points in the paint, 36-18, and second chance points, 24-12.
