Salt Lake City, UT (Sports Network) - Devoe Joseph finished with 20 points,
five rebounds, and four assists as the Oregon Ducks defeated the Utah Utes
79-68 in Pac-12 action at Huntsman Center.
Carlos Emory came off the bench to score 14 for the Ducks (16-6, 7-3 Pac-12)
and E.J. Singler chipped in with 12 points.
For Utah (5-17, 2-8), Chris Hines tallied 20 points and Kareem Storey recorded
a double-double with 10 points and 11 assists. Cedric Martin added 15 points
for the Utes, who have lost seven of eight.
The teams played to a 36-36 tie after one half with Utah shooting 52.2 percent
from the floor and Oregon not far behind at 48.3 percent. The Utes led by as
many as seven but the Ducks finished the half on a 9-1 run to tie it up.
Utah held a 49-41 early in the second half but Oregon clawed its way back in
it and took a 53-52 lead with 8:37 remaining. After a few minutes on the sea
saw, the Ducks finished the game on a 21-9 run to seal the victory. Oregon
shot 50 percent from the floor after the break while Utah went cold at just 32
percent.
Oregon outscored Utah 30-16 in the paint and 12-2 on fast break points.
