MINNEAPOLIS - Forest Lake senior tennis star Dusty Boyer became the first ever four-time defending state tennis champion in the state of Minnesota.
Boyer won the state title Friday, winning the championship match 6-4, 6-2, giving him his fourth straight state tennis title. It's the first time the feat has ever been done in Minnesota.
Boyer won his semifinal match in straight sets earlier in the day to finish the season with a perfect record of 30-0.
He has to be regarded as one of the greatest boys' tennis players in Minnesota prep history with four state championships. Boyer is headed to Nebraska to play tennis for the Cornhuskers next year.
