The Minnesota Twins announced after Wednesday's loss to the Chicago White Sox that they will recall right-handed pitcher Kyle Waldrop from Triple-A Rochester.
The move will be made prior to Friday night's game against the Kansas City Royals.
In nine games for the Red Wings this season, Waldrop posted a 1.26 ERA (14.1 innings pitched, 2 earned runs) with five walks and five strikeouts. He began the season on the Twins' 15-day disabled list with a right elbow strain.
To make room for Waldrop on the 25-man roster, the Twins optioned right-handed pitcher Jeff Manship to Triple-A Rochester.
Manship gave up 5 hits and 3 runs in one inning of work in Wednesday's 12-5 loss to Chicago.
