Boston, MA (Sports Network) - The New England Patriots have extended the
contract of defensive lineman Kyle Love.
According to the Globe, and confirmed by agent Sean Stellato, Love was the
recipient of a one-year extension with a maximum value of $3.1 million that
includes a $500,000 signing bonus.
However, in 2012, Love is in line to make $540,000, the amount of the
exclusive-rights free agent deal he inked previously.
Love originally joined the Patriots as a rookie free agent out of Mississippi
State in 2010. He has 40 tackles and four sacks in 25 career games (14 starts)
with New England. That includes 33 tackles and three sacks over 16 games in
2011.
