Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Matt Barkley and Marqise Lee hooked up for
a 75-yard touchdown on the game's opening play and Southern California began
its season with a 49-10 romp of Hawaii.
Barkley completed 23-of-38 throws for 377 yards and four touchdowns. Lee, who
also returned a kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown, ended with 10 receptions
for 197 yards.
At 10-2, USC was one of the best teams in the country last season, but the

to NCAA violations.
They're now eligible for the BCS, and third-year coach Lane Kiffin got his
team off to a strong start Saturday.
Silas Redd, a transfer from Penn State, rushed nine times for 57 yards and a
score.
Sean Schroeder finished 23-of-38 for 208 yards with a TD and a pair of
interceptions for the Warriors (0-1), who began their inaugural season in the
Mountain West after 33 years in the Western Athletic Conference. Hawaii went
6-7 last season.
Hawaii coach Norm Chow made his debut against USC, where he spent four seasons
as offensive coordinator (2001-04).
