Orchard Park, NY (Sports Network) - The Buffalo Bills placed rookie cornerback
Ron Brooks on injured reserve and signed wide receiver Ruvell Martin on
Tuesday.
Brooks, who had foot surgery late last week, was given the new "designated for
return" tag. Under the new guidelines, an NFL club can return one player on
injured reserve to the active roster later in the season (at least 42 calendar
days).
Brooks won't be eligible to return to practice with the team until Oct. 17th
and can't be active for a game until Oct. 31st.
Martin caught seven passes for 82 yards in 14 games for the Bills last season.
He has hauled in 72 passes for 1,088 yards and seven touchdowns in 68 career
contests with Green Bay, St. Louis, Seattle and Buffalo.
