Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - The Cincinnati Bengals placed center Kyle
Cook on injured reserve and signed tight end Richard Quinn.
Cook injured his ankle during an Aug. 23 preseason game against the Packers.
He was given the new "designated for return" tag.
Under the new guidelines, an NFL club can return one player on injured reserve
to the active roster later in the season (at least 42 calendar days). Cook is
eligible to practice as early as the week of the Oct. 21 game against
Pittsburgh and play as soon as Nov. 4 against the Broncos.
Quinn, who was cut by the Redskins last week, has one catch in 30 career games
with Denver and Washington.
