Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Dodgers transferred pitcher
Chad Billingsley to the 60-day disabled list and selected the contract of
pitcher Steven Rodriguez from Double-A Chattanooga Wednesday.
Billingsley, who pitched to a 10-9 record with a 3.55 ERA in 25 starts this
season, was placed on the 15-day DL on Aug. 25 with right elbow pain.
Rodriguez went 1-0 with five saves and a 0.92 earned run average in 21 relief
appearances between Single-A Great Lakes and Chattanooga this year after being
selected in the second round of June's draft.
The 21-year-old has limited hitters to a .149 batting average while recording
22 strikeouts in 13 2/3 innings since joining Chattanooga on July 28.
