Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - The Philadelphia Eagles signed
quarterback Trent Edwards to a one-year contract extension on Wednesday,
keeping him with the club through the 2013 season.
Edwards was originally signed to a one-year deal in the offseason, but battled
his way onto the final 53-man roster thanks to an outstanding showing in the
preseason, which forced the release of 2010 fourth-round draft pick Mike
Kafka.
Edwards, 28, was 54-of-80 through the air in the preseason, good for 489
yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions.
