San Francisco, CA (Sports Network) - Hunter Pence knocked in two runs and
Barry Zito tossed 6 1/3 scoreless innings, as the NL West-leading San
Francisco Giants beat the Los Angeles Dodgers, 4-0, in the rubber match of a
three-game series.
Buster Posey hit a solo homer for the Giants, who lead the Dodgers by 5 1/2
games for first place in the division. Marco Scutaro had an RBI.
Zito (11-8) gave up four hits while striking out four and walking three for
San Francisco, which went 3-3 on a six-game homestand.
Joe Blanton got the start for Los Angeles after Clayton Kershaw was scratched
with irritation in his right hip. Blanton (9-13) allowed four runs on six hits
and two walks over 5 1/3 innings.
