Tuscaloosa, AL (Sports Network) - The top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide will
likely be without backup running back Jalston Fowler for the rest of the
season due to a knee injury.
Fowler was injured during Alabama's home opener against Western Kentucky on
Saturday and will have surgery in the near future.
"Jalston has been a great player in the program and a really great special
teams guy," Alabama head coach Nick Saban said at Monday's press conference.
"It is going to take a number of people to replace him in the various roles
that he played on our team."
The 6-foot-1, 242-pound junior carried the ball eight times for 67 yards in
the team's season-opening win over nationally-ranked Michigan two weeks ago.
