Flushing, NY (Sports Network) - Tyler Moore had a pinch-hit, two-run home run
to help the Washington Nationals take a 5-3 win over the New York Mets in the
second of three from Citi Field.
Bryce Harper had the first 4-hit game of his career and drove in a run while
Jayson Werth reached base in all five plate appearances and scored once for
the Nationals, who have won three of their last four.
Jordan Zimmerman tossed five innings in the start and gave up just two runs on
six hits, but did throw 104 pitches. Tom Gorzelanny (4-2) got the win for
throwing a scoreless sixth inning.
Scott Hairston hit a solo home run while Daniel Murphy and David Wright each
drove one in for the Mets, who have dropped their past five games. R.A. Dickey
(18-5) had a three-game winning streak stopped as he gave up three runs on
eight hits over seven innings.
