Auburn, AL (Sports Network) - The ULM Warhawks nearly knocked off an SEC
program for the second straight week, but Cody Parkey nailed a 35-yard field
goal in overtime to secure a 31-28 win for the Auburn Tigers at Jordan-Hare
Stadium.
Onterio McCalebb gained 128 yards rushing and a touchdown for the Tigers
(1-2), who narrowly avoided their first 0-3 start since 1950. Tre Mason was
also effective on the ground with 90 yards and a score. Kiehl Frazier went 10-
of-18 for 130 yards, throwing a touchdown and catching another.

for the Warhawks (1-1), who defeated then-ranked Arkansas, 34-31, in their
season opener last week. Jyruss Edwards had 76 yards rushing and Browning
added another 58 yards and a score on the ground.
ULM struck first at the 8:22 mark of the first quarter when Browning hooked up
with Harley Scioneaux on a one-yard touchdown strike.
Auburn tied things up on its next possession following a 27-yard touchdown
scamper from Onterio McCalebb.
Following a 39-yard touchdown run by Browning, the Warhawks retook the lead,
14-7, with under four minutes to play in the second quarter.
The Tigers answered again less than two minutes later. On a trick play,
receiver Quan Bray completed a 33-yard touchdown pass to Frazier.
After forcing a ULM three-and-out, Auburn got the ball on the Warhawks' 39-
yard line. Three plays later, Frazier connected on a 33-yard touchdown pass to
Sammie Coates to give the Tigers a 21-14 lead just before halftime.
The Tigers scored their third straight touchdown early in the third quarter on
a Mason one-yard score to extend their lead, 28-14.
Auburn had a chance to put the game out of reach later in the third quarter
when Mike Blakely ripped off 19-yard run inside ULM's five-yard line, but he
fumbled to prevent the Tigers from scoring.
Another Auburn miscue, this time a Frazier interception midway through the
fourth quarter, allowed ULM to bring the game to within one score, 28-21,
after another Browning-to-Scioneaux hookup.
With less than two minutes left in regulation, Colby Harper reeled in a six-
yard touchdown from Browning. Following a successful PAT, the score was tied a
28-28. Auburn failed to score on their final possession and the game went to
overtime.
ULM got the ball first in overtime, but Justin Manton missed a 37-yard field
goal attempt. Cody Parkey responded with the game-winner on the Tigers'
possession to give them their first win of the season.
Manton also missed a field goal attempt during regulation, which proved to be
costly.
