Tampa, FL (Sports Network) - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have placed wide
receiver Sammie Stroughter on injured reserve because of a foot injury.
Stroughter had one catch for 14 yards and three punt returns for an average of
5.3 yards in the first two games of the season.
The fourth-year veteran out of Oregon State also missed the final three games
of his 2009 rookie campaign because of a broken foot and appeared in only six
games last season after suffering a foot injury in the season-opener.
In 33 games, all with the Bucs, Stroughter has 60 receptions for 639 yards
with one touchdown. He has also averaged 8.4 yards on 16 punt returns and 27.7
yards on 34 kickoff returns.
The Bucs signed wide receiver Chris Owusu, who had been with the practice
squad of the San Diego Chargers. Owusu, an undrafted rookie out of Stanford,
signed with San Diego after being among the final roster cuts for the San
Francisco 49ers.
