Houston, TX (Sports Network) - Lance Lynn tossed seven solid innings of
one-run ball and Peter Kozma backed him with a two-run homer in the second
inning, as the St. Louis Cardinals roughed up the Houston Astros, 6-1, in the
opener of a three-game series at Minute Maid Park.
Lynn (17-7), in his fourth start back since doing an early-September stint in
the bullpen where he worked out some mechanical issues, gave up five hits
while striking out nine.
The Cardinals have won three in a row and sit 3 1/2 games ahead of the Brewers
and Dodgers for the second NL wild card spot.
