Kemp leads Dodgers past Padres

San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - Matt Kemp went 4-for-5 with a homer and 4 RBI and Adrian Gonzalez had two hits and drove in a pair of runs as the Los Angeles Dodgers hammered the San Diego Padres, 8-2, in the middle test of a three-game set.

Nick Punto went 3-for-5 and scored four runs and Juan Rivera added a solo shot for the Dodgers, who trail the St. Louis Cardinals by four games for the final NL wild card spot.

The Cardinals are currently playing the Houston Astros.

Aaron Harang (10-10) gave up four hits and four walks while striking out three over 5 1/3 scoreless innings to pick up the win.

Yasmani Grandal and Chase Headley each knocked in a run for the Padres, who have dropped five of eight.

Clayton Richard (14-13) gave up six runs -- four earned -- on 10 hits over 3 2/3 innings to absorb the loss.
