Houston, TX (Sports Network) - The Houston Astros named Bo Porter as their
next manager, according to a report by MLB.com.
Porter is in his second season as the third-base coach of the Washington
Nationals. The 40-year-old was also the Miami Marlins third-base coach and
baserunning instructor from 2007-09 and served as the Arizona Diamondbacks
third-base coach in 2010.
The Astros have called a 10 a.m. CT Thursday news conference at Minute Maid
Park.
Houston named Tony DeFrancesco as its interim manager last month following
the firing of Brad Mills.
