Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Martin Maldonado clubbed a grand slam in the
third inning to lead the Milwaukee Brewers to a 4-3 triumph over the San Diego
Padres on Tuesday.
Jim Henderson (1-2) earned his first career win after tossing a perfect
seventh inning. Tyler Thornburg started for the Brewers and gave up one run on
four hits and fanned four over four innings.
John Axford stranded two runners in the ninth to notch his 36th save.
Jesus Guzman, Will Venable and Yasmani Grandal each drove in a run for the
Padres, who have dropped six of their last seven.
Anthony Bass (2-8) gave up four runs on three hits and three walks over three
innings to absorb the loss.
