BLAINE, Minn. - The buzz surrounding the sport of curling usually only surfaces every four years during a Winter Olympics, but there is plenty of excitement surrounding the opening of a new curling club in Blaine.
Four Seasons Curling Club is set to open in a little over a month. The state of the art facility is in the final stages of construction as part of Fogerty Arena.
The 28,000 square foot arena will feature six full sheets of ice that will be open year round.
They'll be hosting an open house this Saturday at 12 noon- 4pm.
John Benton, a 2010 US Olympian in the sport, talks with Perk about what the new facility means for the Twin Cities, and for the entire sport of curling.
