Boston, MA (Sports Network) - Mirza Teletovis sank a tie-breaking free throw
with 4.1 seconds left to lift the Brooklyn Nets to a 97-96 preseason victory
over the Boston Celtics at TD Garden.
Brooklyn's Stephen Dennis missed a pair of foul shots with the score knotted
at 96-96, but Teletovis came down with the rebound and was fouled by Rob Kurz.
He made the first and missed the second, but Boston couldn't connect on two
attempts to move back ahead in the final seconds.
Teletovis finished with 18 points and Andray Blatche scored 23 with nine
rebounds for the Nets, who rallied back from a 10-point deficit with under
four minutes left to move to 3-0 in the preseason.
Paul Pierce poured in 29 points and drained 6-of-8 three-point shots for
Boston, but it wasn't enough to prevent the Celtics from falling to 1-4 in
exhibition play. Jeff Green netted 14 points in defeat.
