Buffalo, NY (Sports Network) - Tino Sunseri completed 9-of-17 passes for 128
yards to lead the Pittsburgh Panthers to a 20-6 victory over the Buffalo Bulls
at UB Stadium.
Ray Graham rushed for 74 yards on 20 carries and scored one touchdown for
Pittsburgh (3-4). Rushel Shell added to the Panther attack by carrying the ball
12 times for 35 yards and a score. The victory ended a two-game losing slide.
For Buffalo (1-6), Alex Zordich completed 23-of-41 passes for 165 yards and
threw one interception. Zordich also picked up 79 yards on the ground. Running
back Devin Campbell rushed for team-high 104 yards on 19 carries as the Bulls
lost for their fifth game in a row.
The Panthers scored first on a 45-yard field goal by Kevin Harper, 3-0.
Harper made another field goal, this one from 22 yards and it put the Panthers
up, 6-0.
Midway through the second quarter, Zordich was intercepted by Jason Hendricks
from the Panthers. Pitt took advantage of the turnover as Shell punched it in
from four yards out to give the Panthers a 13-0 lead.
The Bulls responded with a 27-yard field goal by kicker Patrick Clarke, but
they still trailed, 13-3
At the end of the first half, Clarke made a 41-yard field goal that narrowed
the deficit to 13-6 heading into the intermission.
Pittsburgh struck first in the second half when Graham dashed
seven yards for a to put his team up, 20-6.
Buffalo could not find the end zone in the second half and was held scoreless
by the relentless Panther defense.
Despite the loss Buffalo outgained Pittsburgh in total yards 334-254.
