Alabama, Oregon stay 1-2 in poll

New York, NY (Sports Network) - Alabama continued its streak of weeks at No. 1 to eight, the longest stay atop the Associated Press rankings in school history.

The Crimson Tide received 59 first-place votes and a total of 1,499 points from a nationwide media panel after their 44-13 victory over Tennessee on Saturday.

Oregon, Florida, Kansas State and Notre Dame rounded out the top five for a second straight week. The Gators got the other first-place vote.
