Denver, CO (Sports Network) - The Denver Nuggets exercised the third-year
contract options on forward Kenneth Faried and guard/forward Jordan Hamilton
on Monday, keeping the two players on the team through the 2013-14 season.
Both players are entering their sophomore campaigns after being drafted four
spots apart in the 2011 NBA Draft.
Faried, the 22nd overall pick, averaged 10.2 points and 7.7 rebounds per
contest last season, earning a spot on the NBA All-Rookie First Team. Through
the first five preseason games, Faried has posted 11 points and 5.8 rebounds
per game.
Hamilton, who was the 26th selection, averaged 4.4 points and 2.4 rebounds in
26 games last season, but has scored 12.3 points per contest through three
preseason games this year.
