Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Eric Bledsoe fell a steal shy of a triple-
double to lead the Los Angeles Clippers to a 97-91 victory over the Los
Angeles Lakers in preseason action Wednesday from Staples Center.
Bledsoe finished with 22 points, 11 assists and nine steals, while Matt Barnes
added 18 points and Blake Griffin followed with 15 points for the Clippers,
who improved to 4-3 in the preseason.
Pau Gasol scored a team-high 17 points and grabbed eight boards and Metta
World Peace donated 13 points in the setback, as the Lakers remained winless
in the preseason.
Kobe Bryant sat out the contest with a bruised right foot and will not play in
the club's final preseason game on Thursday against Sacramento. Center Dwight
Howard also missed Wednesday's setback due to back soreness.
The Lakers held a 73-72 edge after three frames, but the Clippers shot 50
percent from the field and held the Lakers to just 5-of-13 shooting over the
final 12 minutes to complete the victory.
