Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Eastern Illinois wide receiver Erik Lora
and New Hampshire linebacker Matt Evans are closing in on some impressive
records with only four weeks remaining in the 2012 season.
Lora, a junior who missed 2011 due to injury, has already broken EIU's single-
season reception record, catching 11 passes against Jacksonville State on Oct.
13 to surpass Jerry Wright's previous record of 76 set in 1984. Lora also has
set the Panthers' single-game records for receptions (21) and receiving yards
(269).
Lora is nine receptions away from breaking the Ohio Valley Conference's single-
season record of 92 catches as EIU heads to 18th-ranked Eastern Kentucky on
Saturday.
He has seven straight 100-yard receiving games this season, which is the
longest streak in the FCS since 2000.
Evans, the 2011 Buck Buchanan Award winner and a first-team All-America
selection, needs at least 20 tackles in the team's last three games to overtake
Steve Doig (1978-81) as the all-time leader in UNH history.
Evans is the FCS' current active leader with 415 career tackles. He also is the
active leader in solo tackles (235) for a career.
No. 12 UNH visits Rhode Island on Saturday.
