Orlando, FL (Sports Network) - The Orlando Magic waived three players,
including veteran swingman Quentin Richardson, to reduce their roster to 15
for the start of the 2012-13 season.
Richardson averaged just 2.3 points and 1.3 rebounds in three preseason games
for the Magic, who first signed the DePaul product as a free agent in July
2010. He averaged 4.4 points and 2.9 rebounds in 105 games, including 22
starts, during his two seasons in Orlando.
The 32-year-old veteran has averages of 10.3 points and 4.7 rebounds in 782
NBA games over 12 seasons with Orlando, Miami, New York, Phoenix and the LA
Clippers.
Orlando also waived forwards Justin Harper and Chris Johnson. Harper, who
averaged 3.7 points in six preseason games, appeared in 14 games as a rookie
last season for the Magic and averaged 1.4 points. Johnson signed as a free
agent earlier this month and appeared in four preseason games.
