Miami, FL (Sports Network) - Miami Dolphins starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill has been diagnosed with a bruised quadriceps and a bone bruise in his left knee after exiting Sunday's game against the New York Jets.

According to the Miami Herald, an MRI taken Monday did not reveal any structural damage, though the rookie first-round pick is still in considerable discomfort and his status for this weekend's matchup at Indianapolis is currently in question.

"I saw him walking around a bit and I know he's fairly optimistic, but we just have to wait and see," said Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin during his Monday press conference.

Tannehill was hurt on a sack by the Jets' Calvin Pace on Miami's second drive of its 30-9 victory over its AFC East rival at MetLife Stadium.

Matt Moore, who started 12 times for the Dolphins last season, would take over under center in the event Tannehill is unable to go. The veteran threw for 131 yards and a touchdown with no turnovers on 11-of-19 passing after taking over in Sunday's win.
