Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - Quevyn Winters scored 18 points off the
bench as he led the Duquesne Dukes to an 84-74 win over the Youngstown State
Penguins in sub-regional play for the Legends Classic.
Winters shot 6-of-9 from the field and was 2-of-3 from beyond the arc in the
Dukes' (2-3) win. Derrick Colter also scored 18 points while Kadeem Pantophlet
added 13.
Four players scored in double-figures for the Penguins (3-2) in their loss.
Kendrick Perry led the team with 15 points despite shooting 4-of-14 from the
field and was followed by Damian Eargle with 14 points, Bobby Hain with 13 off
the bench, and Shawn Amiker with 10.
The Dukes knocked down seven threes in the first half and took a 42-33 lead
into the break.
In the second half Duquesne shot 50.0 percent from the field and outscored the
Penguins 42-41 to finish off their victory.
The Dukes dominated the battle on the boards by a margin of 53-29.
