ST. PAUL, Minn. - For two local Minnesotans, just seeing their names on the back of a Minnesota Wild jersey made it all worth the journey.

Treye Kettwick and Josh Swartout had a chance to try out for the emergency goalie position for the Wild this year. The winner would be determined through a shootout against former NHL players during the Houston Aeros game last Sunday at the Xcel Energy Center. Both Kettwick and Swartout gave up two goals on their first two shots but stopped the next nine they faced. While a shootout would continue until a winner was decided, this contest had to be postponed until a later time.

Both goalies may be amateurs but they have plenty of hockey experience. Kettwick played junior hockey in Montana and was a division one goalie at Army before transferring to the University of St. Thomas. Swartout went to high school at St. Louis Park before playing junior hockey in Bloomington. After that, Swartout headed to Gustavus Adolphus.
