Winston-Salem, NC (Sports Network) - C.J. Harris scored 18 points to lead the
Wake Forest Demon Deacons to a 63-57 win over the William & Mary Tribe in a
non-conference matchup at Joel Coliseum.
Despite shooting 0-of-8 from three-point range, Harris managed to lead the team
in scoring by converting 10-of-11 attempts at the free-throw line for Wake
Forest (3-2). Travis McKie added 15 points and six rebounds.
Marcus Thornton supplied 17 points for the Tribe (3-2) as it suffered its
second consecutive loss. Tim Rusthoven just missed a double-double as he
recorded 11 points and nine rebounds.
William & Mary ked by as many as 13 points before going into the intermission
with a 30-23 advantage. The Demon Deacons shot just 31.0 percent from the field
before halftime.
Wake Forest came back out of the break on a mission and shot 52.4 percent from
the field as the team outscored the Tribe 40-27 in the second half to pulled
off the come from behind victory.
The 23 personal fouls commited by the Tribe led to 20 made free throws by the
Demon Deacons. William & Mary made just 11-of-19 attempts at the charity stripe
in the loss.
