Jake Horton - Benilde-St. Margaret's
MINNEAPOLIS - In the State Boy's Class-A Soccer final, Benilde-St. Margaret's defeated defending champion Prairie Seeds Academy.
Scoring the first goal was crucial for the Red Knights, and who better to set the tone than senior Jake Horton. Horton scored Benilde's first goal and led the Red Knights to a 3-1 victory and the Boy's State Championship.
Horton had a great state tournament, scoring the game winning goal in both the state semifinal and quarterfinal. He finished the season with 14 goals, three of which he scored in the state playoffs.
