MINNEAPOLIS - Washburn senior lefty Josh Pierce is off to an impressive start in baseball this spring.
Last week, Josh made two starts, tossing 13 innings of shutout baseball, including 17 strikeouts. He has a perfect record this season at 6-0 and the six wins are tops in the metro. He also has 55 strikeouts in 41 innings pitched with an ERA of 0.68.
Pretty good for a kid who three years ago threw nothing but junk according to his coach. Josh is a control pitcher who keeps everything down in the strike zone. He has given up just four earned runs in 41 innings this season.
