ST. PAUL, Minn. - He may be the state's premier track athlete. One thing is for sure, Park senior R.J. Alowonle is the best ever in the 300 hurdles. He shattered a 25-year state record in that event over a week ago, and nearly did it again last week during the Section 3AA track meet.
He also ran a sub-14-second in the 110-meter high hurdles which is easily the fastest in Minnesota this spring.
R.J. also has the state's best triple jump of 47-feet 10 inches, performances all turned in at sections last week.
R.J. will compete in four events at the state track meet this week.
He will attend North Carolina on a track scholarship.
